Hi all
I just bought an Elegoo Neptune 4 plus, I expect the Wifi is the same on most of them.
I had it working out in the yard when I first assembled it, but now it's in the garage the Wifi just doesn't work, I can sometimes see it.
I can use it with a USB stick but that's not the point.
I've bought an extension cable to see if that helps, but it's no better.
I don't think it's the printer as it worked when first set up.
I have it near a Saturn 4 Ultra and that Wifi works fine, it does have a larger aerial.
Can anybody give me some advice on how to improve the Wifi.
Thanks in advance
Lez

Re: Neptune 4 Wifi not working
I solved the problem. I moved the router 2 feet and success, the Neptune 4 can see the network.
I wouldn't have believed that 2 feet could make so much difference.

Re: Neptune 4 Wifi not working
Well that didn't work as well as I would have liked.
The signal goes on and off. The printer can see the Wifi and it gets connected, but from the PC the signal isn't that good.
At times I can send a file to the printer and see it in a browser and other times nothing.
I have a fridge next to the printer, would that cause the problem, the other printer with Wifi is further away?

Re: Neptune 4 Wifi not working
WiFi is "line of Sight" signal and if the fridge is between the printer and the router, it will surely affect the signal.

Re: Neptune 4 Wifi not working
The antenna for the printer is above the height of the fridge, the signal has to go through walls, and are all on the same level.
What I can't understand is the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra next to it has no problems, it is further away from the fridge.
It's all magic to me

Re: Neptune 4 Wifi not working
Have two refrigerators in the line of my Linksys routers,
I have a seven camera security system it is partitive that a good WIFI signal was achieved.
So my solution was that elevate the Router as high as possible to broadcast over the refrigerators.
It worked though still had reservations about the operation with so many devices.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Finally went with three Linksys MR6250 Mesh routers linked them together giving them all separate areas of use.
In short all routers are wired together as operate as a single network, though have setup three separate WIFI areas to cover all devices.
My devices that roam are configured to automatically connect with router of the highest signal strength, cell phones, laptops and tablets.
My felling of unease about how my network works has now ended, can now connect with more devices than will ever be in use at one time.
It only cost me $160.00 and a couple hours to install and configure all devices so it was well worth this simple upgrade.
Full time connected devices, 4 computers, 4 cell phones via WiFi-Calling, 2 tablets, 2 Laptops, 6 cameras connected wired and WiFi, 5 3D Printers.
On a high speed 500mb/s download and 12mb/s upload. With promise's of a faster upload for over a year now, tired of waiting.
Also.
My 3D Printers barely connected using 5G, had to add 2.5G WiFi for 3D Printers with better connections results.

Hi Cliff, it sounds like you have quite a setup.
I'm in the process of trying a second router, it's working better.
I'll try your advice.
Thanks.

Re: Neptune 4 Wifi not working
Well I've been trying various things and I think I finally have it fixed.
I added another router and have set it up as a different name.
I placed this near a window so the signal didn't have to go through a lot of walls.
I have a long antenna on an extension and moved it around to get the best signal.
The printer has a strong signal now.
I've done 2 prints via Wifi and I can see the printer in a browser.
Thanks for the help

Re: Neptune 4 Wifi not working
You are Welcome Lez0
Had other Linksys routers before purchasing my MR6350 Linksys Mesh routers, these are the best for the modest cost.
Live in a steel structured house so getting a signal outside for my cameras was quite the chore, originally decided to hard wire.
Though at some-point in time decided that they can do both so they are now not limited to just a wired connection.
As stated I have three MR6350 Linksys Mesh routers and I gave them stock names like something, one something, two something.
Well now I can not remember which router is which, no reason to rename them but I should have given then better names.
Like N,S,E,W then I would know which is which, have a diagram can look them up not a big deal just need better planing next time.
Just wanted to say for such a low cost these are the best routers I have ever owned.
