Is there any benefit using a TMC2209 for extruders stepper motors.
Please be specific.
Thank You

I know years ago people suggested using a different stepper driver for the extruder back when the 2208 drivers came out. 2209s are better, better thermals and on the 7 machines I have them in, I have 2209's running the extruder. No issues.

The only thing you need to be aware of is what the extruder motor voltage needs / mA. You might have to do some math. If you use a Bondtech direct drive, their guides usually advise you to reduce the voltage to 0.40 - 0.60v (depends on the light weight motor they use).
