Looking for Tips on Distance from Build Plate.

Post by shadowpunk »

How far should i keep my print above the Build Plate?
i think sometimes it warps the print if i'm too close. i also think if the print takes too long it makes the bottom Glossy.

any thoughts, tips or advice
thanks

I use the default 5mm and it works out OK. I know this is the minimum as you have to turn the part at an angle so there are no large areas printing.
If I can I have the part sitting on the Build Plate. You can still add supports.
Also the thickness of supports can make a big difference, if in doubt go thicker.
